Nice War of 1812 through 1820s American Eagle Head sword. The ricasso is lightly marked "Warranted", possibly indicating British manufacture. The blade exhibits much wear and oxidation, with a nice amount of bluing still remaining. Patriotic and martial scenes are seen on both sides of the blade in gold plate. The end of the blade is unblued. The brass guard features a patriotic American Eagle and shield, with arrows in the talons. The bow is ornately decorated with scrolls and British-style lion heads - another indication of British manufacture.

The pommel features a nicely detailed patriotic Eagle. As you can see, the grips are long gone (likely mother of pearl), exposing the wooden underbody.

Measures approximately 37 1/2" overall, with a 32 1/2" long blade that is 1 1/16" wide at its widest point.

The sword remains in good condition, showing signs of age, use, and wear. The grips are missing, and the brass quillion has been broken off long ago (pictured). The blade is good, but has taken on a muted and dull appearance from oxidation. The gold relief is muted and worn, but is still presentable. No scabbard is present. Please see the pictures for more detail.
