Dad's Army was a British sitcom that aired from 1968 to 1977. It was set during World War II and followed the lives of a group of local volunteers who formed a home guard unit in the fictional town of Walmington-on-Sea. The show was popular for its comedic portrayal of the difficulties and quirks of the characters as they attempted to defend their town against the threat of invasion by the Germans.

The show was originally broadcast on BBC television and later became popular on radio. The radio show featured the same cast of characters and storylines as the television show, and was recorded in front of a live audience. The radio show was also written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, the creators of the television show.

Many of the episodes of the radio show were later adapted for the television show, and some of the best-known and most memorable episodes of Dad's Army were originally broadcast on radio. The radio show continues to be popular and is regarded as a cult classic.
