Hopper’s Wasted
single was released by Tony Wilson’s Factory Records, in its second
incarnation, in 1995. They were a London band that had released a couple of
singles on Damaged Goods before Mr. Wilson spotted them and this was their
first single proper for his newly launched Factory Too. It was taken from their
debut and only album, English & French, produced by Bernard Butler. The
label needed a run of white label 7” singles to promote the release to radio
stations and record shops pre-release. This is what the pressing plant came
back with, the 7” single with plain black labels [they managed to leave the white
labels off] in a white paper sleeve.
Tracks are
A Wasted
AA Double Joy
We haven’t seen
one of these on ebay before and the single was only pressed in limited numbers
so these promo copies must be relatively rare.
An interesting addition for the Factory completist.
7” is new and unplayed,
catalogue number FAC2.05.
