🌟🌟🌟The following JEWELRY GRADING SYSTEM🌟🌟🌟is utilized to provide prospective Buyers with accessing the item’s condition grade:
1. New With Tags (NWT): Exactly as you would expect the item’s condition to be if purchasing at a retail Brighton Store, but without the high mark-up. Exceptions to pricing are made for Ultra-Rare & Highly Sought-after Retired Brighton Retired Jewelry Lines, which prices tend to climb with age, condition grade, market desirability, market availability & BRIGHTON RETIRED JEWELRY LINE COLLECTIBILITY (which varies greatly depending upon physical/aesthetic appearance & collectors’ market trends). Nearly all of my inventory weekly saysis from older Brighton Retired Jewelry Lines, which typically contain a vast number of fine Swarovski Crystals & have been retired from between 8 to 25+Years & have a long track record of proven HIGH BRIGHTON JEWELRY MARKET DESIRABILITY & COLLECTABILITY!
2. Like-new (LN): Close to “New” condition but without tags. The slightest or very, very tiny imperfections might be present. Always review all carefully taken listing photos to obtain a verification of condition grade, as the photos are considered part of the listing description.
Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel is fully intact & does not contain tiny pitting or flaking.
3. Very Good+ (VG+): Close to Like-new, no tarnish, major flaws, no missing, chipped, cracked or scratched Swarovski Crystals, Kiln Baked Enamel, or Artisan Glass or other materials. Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel is fully intact & does not contain tiny pitting or flaking. Tiny micro abrasions or other not overtly imperfections might be present but not visible unless extremely closely inspected. Pricing typically (but not always) closely follows “Like-new” condition grade by only a few dollars.
4. Very Good (VG): A lightly used but exquisitely well cared for item that still looks close to Like-new condition, which is free from tarnish, major flaws, missing, cracked, chipped or scratched Swarovski Crystals, kiln baked Enamel, Artisan Glass or other production materials). Tiny micro abrasions or very fine scratches might be present but the item appears bright, beautiful and stunningly beautiful. Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel is fully intact & does not contain tiny pitting or flaking. Price adjusted below condition grade Very Good+ to Like-new. This is the most common quality category that I carry & customer feedback reflects that I am VERY careful & take my Brighton grade condition assessment responsibilities very seriously!
5. Good to Very Good (G/VG): Item is beautiful but possesses signs of normal wear & contains minor imperfections of various types that are not overtly noticeable. No tarnish, no missing,
cracked, chipped or scratched Swarovski Crystals, kiln baked Enamel, Artisan Glass or other production materials), which if scratches were present, severely negatively alters the Swarovski Crystal’s appearance & ability to brilliantly shine. item shows signs of wear, typically because the item has been retired for between 8 to 25+Years! Micro abrasions or very fine scratches are likely present but item still appears bright & beautiful. Typically most of the wear is contained to the jewelry item’s back; however, the front may show light signs of wear but item is beautiful & price has been reduced to compensate for grade condition difference. Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel is, for the most part, still fully intact; however, item may have small areas, usually on the underside portions of the jewelry item or parts of the jewelry item that would come into regular contact with other hard surfaces (bracelet or bangle exterior underside), that may result in some small amounts of pitting or flaking of the protective lacquer. Price adjusted below condition grade Very Good. This is the 4th most common quality category that I carry. My standards of grading are higher than most other eBay Sellers, with the exception of the high-end Sellers who’ve sold thousands of items & who charge much higher prices because they do not sell below condition grades “New With Tags” or “New Without Tags.” This jewelry grade is the best value before a substantial & noticeable difference in quality grading takes place. NOTE: Quite often I will have duplicate items that fall within the same grade condition but which I prefer to list separately. LOOK FOR ITEMS WHERE I HAVE listed VG and G/VG & compare my descriptions & photos because OFTEN YOU CAN OBTAIN AN ITEM YOU DESIRE FOR LESS MONEY by going with condition grade G/VG!
If there are major condition grade differences, it will be noted in the listing and referred to in differing photos.
6. GOOD (GD): Item is beautiful but possesses signs of more noticeable normal wear & contains imperfections of various types that are not overtly noticeable unless inspecting the item very closely. THIS CONDITION GRADE IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR THRIFTY SHOPPERS WHO DESIRE BRIGHTON’S LEGENDARY BEAUTIFUL, WELL-MADE, LONG-LASTING JEWELRY BUT WHO DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR HIGHER GRADE COSTS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THEY WILL BE USING THE JEWELRY ON A DAILY BASIS AND BECAUSE
THEY DON’T MIND NORMAL WEAR THEM IMPERFECTIONS THAT ARE STILL NOT OVERTLY NOTICEABLE UNLESS SCRUTINIZED VERY CLOSELY. No tarnish (unless indicated by a “Condition Note.” No missing,
cracked, chipped or scratched Swarovski Crystals, kiln baked Enamel, Artisan Glass or other production materials).
IF ANY SUCH BLEMISHES ARE CONTAINED WITHIN THE JEWELRY ITEM, a “CONDITION NOTE” will ALWAYS be present, along with photos pointing out such. Abrasions & scratches present but item still retains its beauty. Wear may or may not be contained in the jewelry item’s back or inside portion that touches skin but the front may contain signs of wear (again always refer to & enlarge the listing’s photos to verify the item’s condition) but item is still beautiful & the price is reduced to compensate for grade condition difference from G/VG. Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel is largely intact; however, in high jewelry contact areas, usually on the underside portions of the jewelry item or parts of the jewelry item that come into regular contact with other hard surfaces (bracelet, bangle or necklace exterior underside) that may result in fine pitting or flaking of the protective lacquered coating layer in small areas. If lacquered coating is significantly affected, photos of the areas will be included within the listing photos, so potential Buyers may inspect the condition grade according to their standards or grading desires.
NOTE: Quite often I will have duplicate items that fall within the same grade condition but which I prefer to list separately. Look for items where I have listed G/VG & GD and compare my descriptions & photos (especially if the photos are identical) because OFTEN you can obtain an item you desire for a lower price by going with condition grade “GOOD.” IF THERE ARE MAJOR CONDITION GRADE DIFFERENCES, it will be noted in the listing description, HIGHLIGHTED in BOLD, ALL CAPS (AND often underlined), RED or BLUE wording & referred to in differing photos.
7. ACCEPTABLE: I NEVER LIST UNDER THIS CONDITION CATEGORY, with the ONLY EXCEPTION being with my STORE LIQUIDATION SALE,
If any item is listed below grade “GOOD,” it will ALWAYS be CLEARLY MARKED, the description will always contain the item’s blemishes in ALL-CAPS, UNDERLINED, & HIGHLIGHTED in BOLD RED &/OR BLUE lettering font & will be accented with stars (✨ or 🌟) or other emojis, to bring attention to it. Brighton’s unique, proprietary, factory applied 2 layer protective Lacquer Coating over the heavy Silver Plating over Stainless Steel will likely contain pitting or flaking but photo references will identify condition extent. If any Swarovski Crystal(s), kiln baked enamel, Artisan Glass or other fabrication materials are missing, cracked, chipped or damaged or degraded, due to wear, age, or manufacturing blemishes, the items photo & condition description will contain such mention(s), with BOLD lettering, EMOJIS (✨, 🌟, ⭐️, ❤️ or 🇺🇸) and/or BOLD,COLORED,UNDERLINED FONT.
Photos should ALWAYS BE CAREFULLY REVIEWED & such photos will likely contain text box(es) with additional information, as/if necessary. Additionally, the item will ALWAYS be marked down to far below market value, even if the item is “ULTRA-RARE” and/or “NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE-TO-FIND.”
