Definitely more for indoor gatherings. She operates on 4 Double A batteries. There is an off and on switch on the battery compartment which also has a screwed closure. At one time touching her hand would start her talking, this no longer activates her. It seems a slight tug on her dress does the trick. And sometimes she just talks at random! She is just a super neat decor item. Her clothes are in excellent shape and her orange apron has bats and black cats in the pattern. This fabric is also used for her collar on the dress and accent to the cuffs of her sleeves. She is wearing purple shoes. Self standing. There is a hood and loop closure at the back of dress.
