Extremely rare Olivetti Graphika typewriter of 1959 (S/N: 1'808'900) in its original glossy pistachio finish.

This is the second Olivetti Graphika I refurbished: I have had the incredible luck to collect two of them in France in 2021 and 2024, probably amongst the very few of the ones that were sold in France. 

The olivetti graphika is perhaps the Holy Grail of typewriter collecting as it was produced at less than 10'000 units between 1957 and 1959, and was overall not very reliable and thus far fewer have survived to this day.

This unit was not working when I got it but a thorough cleaning of the segments and proportional escapement mechanism with adequate lubrication brought this beauty back to life (refer to photographs of 'before' and 'after'). It is now in full working order, including double-spacing, margin settings, tabulation, colour selection and of course proportional spacing.

The Reiner typefont is beautiful and the letters are well-aligned, the new ribbon allows an excellent print of all characters and letters.

The aesthetic condition is very good for its age, but some scratches are to be noted, notably on the front 'chin' of the typewriter, visible on the photos. The chromework, although mostly shiny, is pitted in places. All keys on the keyboard are present and in very good condition.

The platen is still soft and does not show any cracks. 

Overall the glossy green finish is still vibrant and gives for a beautiful typewriter to expose or to use. 

I have had many typewriters under my hand and I have taken especially good care of this Italian lady, and I am convinced you'll have many years of happy usage as the new caretaker of this rare piece of history. 

The typewriter will be shipped in a solid cardboard box with extensive protection to avoid any issues.

Machine à écrire Olivetti Graphika très rare de 1959 (S/N : 1'808'900), finition pistache brillante d'origine.

C'est le deuxième Olivetti Graphika que j'ai rénové : j'ai eu la chance d'en trouver deux en France en 2021 et 2024, probablement parmi les quelques unes vendues en France.

L'Olivetti graphika est peut-être le Saint Graal d'une collection de machines à écrire, ayant été produite à moins de 10 000 unités entre 1957 et 1959, et n'était dans l'ensemble pas très fiable ; peu ont survécu en état de marche.

Cette machine ne fonctionnait pas quand je l'ai trouvé, mais un nettoyage en profondeur des segments et du mécanisme d'échappement proportionnel, avec une lubrification adéquate ont ramené cette beauté à la vie (voir les photos "avant" / "après"). La machine est maintenant en parfait état de fonctionnement, y compris le double espacement, les margeurs, la tabulation, la sélection des couleurs et bien sûr l'espacement proportionnel.

La police de caractères Reiner est magnifique et les lettres sont bien alignées, le nouveau ruban permet une excellente impression de tous les caractères et lettres.

L'état esthétique est très bon pour l'âge de l'objet, mais certaines rayures sont à noter, notamment sur le « menton » avant de la machine à écrire, visible sur les photos. Les chromes bien que plutôt brillants sont piqués à certains endroits. Toutes les touches du clavier sont présentes et en très bon état.

Le rouleau ne montre aucune fissure.

Dans l'ensemble, la finition vert pistache brillant et la machine ferra un magnifique object d'expostion lorsqu'elle n'est pas utilisée. 

J'ai eu beaucoup de machines à écrire sous la main et j'ai particulièrement bien pris soin de cette belle italienne, je suis convaincu que vous aurez de nombreuses années d'utilisation en tant que nouveau propriétaire de ce morceau d'histoire.

La machine à écrire sera expédiée dans un carton solide avec beaucoup de protection pour éviter tout problème.

Extrem seltene Olivetti Graphika Schreibmaschine von 1959 (S/N: 1'808'900) in ihrem ursprünglichen glänzenden Pistazien-Finish.

Dies ist die zweite Olivetti Graphika, die ich renoviert habe: Ich hatte das unglaubliche Glück, 2021 und 2024 zwei davon in Frankreich zu sammeln, wahrscheinlich unter den wenigen, die in Frankreich verkauft wurden.

Die Olivetti Graphika ist vielleicht der Heilige Gral des Schreibmaschinensammelns, da sie zwischen 1957 und 1959 mit weniger als 10'000 Einheiten hergestellt wurde.

Dieses Gerät funktionierte nicht, als ich es bekam, aber eine gründliche Reinigung der Segmente und ein proportionaler Fluchtmechanismus mit ausreichender Schmierung erweckten diese Schönheit wieder zum Leben (siehe Fotos von "vorher" und "nachher"). Es ist jetzt voll funktionsfähig, einschließlich Doppelabstand, Tabulation, Farbauswahl und natürlich proportionalem Hemmung.

Die Reiner-Schriftart ist schön und die Buchstaben sind gut ausgerichtet, das neue Band ermöglicht einen hervorragenden Druck aller Zeichen und Buchstaben.

Der ästhetische Zustand ist sehr gut für sein Alter, aber einige Kratzer sind zu beachten, insbesondere auf dem vorderen " Kinn" der Schreibmaschine, die auf den Fotos sichtbar sind. Die Chromteile, obwohl sie meist glänzend ist, ist an einigen Stellen narbiges. Alle Tasten auf der Tastatur sind vorhanden und in sehr gutem Zustand.

Die Platte ist immer noch weich und zeigt keine Risse.

Insgesamt ist das glänzend grüne Finish immer noch lebendig und bietet eine schöne Schreibmaschine zum Belichten oder Verwenden.

Ich hatte viele Schreibmaschinen unter der Hand und ich habe mich besonders gut um diese italienische Dame gekümmert, und ich bin überzeugt, dass Sie viele Jahre des glücklichen Gebrauchs als neuer Hausmeister dieses seltenen Stücks der Geschichte haben werden.

Die Schreibmaschine wird in einem soliden Karton mit umfangreichem Schutz geliefert, um Probleme zu vermeiden.
