Henry III 1216-72, Short Cross Penny, Nichol/London, Class 8c, S1357C var, N981/3


A nice example of this rare Class 8c short cross penny variety, struck at London with Nichol as moneyer. With no pellet stops on reverse, this type was absent from the Mass collection. Worn but reasonably well detailed with a slightly uneven strike. Weight 1.28g.
