Detect-a-leak

Super Fast, inexpensive highly accurate no toxic method to test for combustion gas leaks into the cooling system indicating engine damage.

Provides highly Effective results on ALL petrol, diesel & LPG engines

Providing you with clear proof that a leak is present when the tester fluid changes colour upon detection of CO2 gases trapped in the vehicle's coolant system.

Which Indicates there is a hairline crack in the cylinder head, engine block or damage to the cylinder head gasket.

Everything you need in one kit.

Kit Includes 30ml test fluid providing approx 15 applications (2ml per test), Test Tube & universal rubber bung which fits 99.9% of vehicles

How the magic works.

When a head gasket, under the head or block is damaged it releases escaping coolant in to the  combustion chamber which is burnt releasing gases containing CO2 in to the cooling system.

When Detect-a-leak is used it allows air flow/gases to escape through the tester & test fluid, when the test fluid changes light green-yellow it indicated the presence of c02, indicating damage to one of these components of the engine.

Performing the test is easy.

Step 1. Remove the expansion tank or radiator filler cap, insert the test tube and rubber bung.

Step 2. Fill the lower U shape chamber with detection fluid - approx 2ml

Step 3. start the engine and allow to idle, some vehicles may show results right away, but most require high combustion pressure meaning it will require the engine to get to temperature to allow enough trapped gas to escape. You will see the test fluid bubble very slowly at first and very rapidly as the engine gets to full temperature.

Step 4. Observe for colour change. Light green - yellow indicates the presence of c02 gases, this is a clear indication of engine damage! Most cars show a result in 3-5 minutes.

Step 5. Dismantle and discard used test liquid, never reuse the used test liquid even if a negative result is achieved as trace gases can contaminate, thus ruining good test liquid if mixed back in to unused test liquid bottle.

A positive test result (green-yellow) indicates engine damage.

A negative result (stays blue) all is good.
