1966 HAMMER FILMS DUAL RELEASE

ALTHOUGH DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS IS NOT LISTED, THE ARTWORK OF CHRISTOPHER LEE ON TOP IS THE SAME ARTWORK USED FOR THE ORIGINAL RELEASE. WHEN THE TWO "HAMMER FILMS" MOVIES WERE RELEASED TOGETHER THE MANAGER CUT UP AN ORIGINAL DAYBILL AND USED THE IMAGE OF LEE TO CREATE THIS POSTER.

A COUPLE TINY TACK HOLES, PROBABLY USED BY THE ARTIST TO HOLD POSTER STAIONARY WHILE APPLYING THE ARTWORK., ACOUPLE TINY STAPLE HOLES INDICATING IT WAS DISPLAYED AT THE THEATRE ONCE. EVERYWHERE ELSE VERY FINE CONDITION. NO YELLOWING OR FADING. STORED AIRTIGHT AFTER BEING USED AND ALSO BY ME WHEN I TOOK POSESSION IN 1986

A STOCK POSTER PRINTED IN AUSTRALIA FOR THE MARKETS OUTSIDE OF AUSTRALIA, NOTE NO AUSTRALIAN CENSOR WARNING PRINTED ON POSTER. OFTEN THEATRES WOULD GET THE FILM BEFORE ANYPOSTERS ARRIVED. THE LOCAL MANAGER OR THE DISTRIBUTOR WOULD EITHER HAND AMKE A POSTER OR CONTRACT AND ARTIST TO MAKE ONE. MUCH MORE RARE THAN A STANDARD ISSUED POSTER

I PERSONALLY TOOK THIS FROM THE THEATER WAREHOUSE IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC. AN INTERESTING THING IS I HAVE SEEN WRITTEN ON POSTERS AND IN CORRESPONDENCE DIRECTIONS FOR CENSOR RATINGS IN COUNTRIES THOUSANDS OF MILES APART AND INDICATING THEY WOULD BE USED IN 1 COUNTRY THEN SHIPPED THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY. THIS ONE I KNOW WAS USED IN NEW ZEALAND., HOWEVER, SEVERAL OTHERS JUST LIKE IT MAY HAVE WENT TO FIJI, GUAM, TAIPEI ETC. I HAVE ALSO GOT THEM IN NEW ZEALAND MARKED FOR CENTRAL AMERICA "MOSQUITO COAST"
