This mount fits Vivitar (and Tokina) TX lenses onto the classic Canon FD and FL manual focus 35mm film SLR cameras including the F-series, A-series and T-series models. It is compatible with the automatic features of these cameras with auto diaphragm and full aperture metering in all exposure and metering modes. The mount is in fully working order and good used condition, supplied with rear cap and a copy of the instructions. Please read the full description for important compatibility information.

TX lenses with this mount work in virtually the same way as Canon FD breech lock lenses on these cameras. For manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes you use the aperture ring on the lens as normal, with the chrome switch on the mount set to M. For shutter priority or program modes (and all auto modes on the A-1 or T90) you set the aperture to minimum or the green circle and the switch to EE, which is the equivalent of setting a Canon FD lens to A.

Compatibility

Lens Compatibility
This interchangeable mount fits all Vivitar and Tokina TX lenses. These were designed to fit a range of manual focus 35mm film SLR cameras when used with appropriate mounts, which attach using a breech-lock fitting and locking ring. When the mount is removed the letters TX are visible on the rear surface inside the lens. Please note that while some TX mounts are also suitable for the earlier Vivitar, Tokina or Soligor T4 lenses, this one is NOT compatible.

Camera Compatibility
This mount fits all Canon FD manual focus 35mm film SLR cameras including the F-1, F-1n, F-1N, FTb, FTbN, EF, TLb, TX, A-1, AE-1, AE-1 Program, AL-1, AT-1, AV-1, T50, T60, T70, T80 (manual focus only) and T90. It offers automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering, compatible with all exposure modes including aperture priority, shutter priority, program and manual on appropriate models. It works with all metering modes including spot on suitable cameras. The mount also fits the earlier FL camera models including the FT, FP, FX, TL and Pellix, with stopped down metering where appropriate. The FD mount is NOT compatible with Canon autofocus EOS film or digital cameras, the EF-M, Canonex, EX-EE or EX-Auto, Demi C, rangefinders, other Canon cameras or any other makes. A TX lens with this mount can be fitted to Canon EOS M and EOS R mirrorless cameras with suitable manual adapters (not included), as there was of course no TX mount made for these cameras.
