This coin is one of five releases in the Discover Australia Series
struck from the Perth Mint. Each coin depicts artistry inspired by the
beautiful Australian landscape and its wildlife.
The Red Kangaroo is the largest species of Australia’s best known animal, the kangaroo.
Coin Highlights:
- Contains 1 oz of fine Silver.
- Housed in an individual display case featuring a timber lid,
stylized shipper and comes complete with a numbered certificate of
authenticity.
- Mintage of only 7,500.
- Obverse: Right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value.
- Reverse: Features a Red Kangaroo in a standing pose set against
a colored background of the central Australian outback and a windmill.
The design includes the inscriptions DISCOVER AUSTRALIA and RED
KANGAROO, design by Natasha Muhl. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and the
2012 date are also included in the design.
