This is an open box rail. It will do one side of a smaller bed or the bottom rail on a king. Please see diagram for what you’re trying to accomplish. Please realize it is simply 1 rail of the possible 3 you need to enclose the bed.

We verified all pieces are there and it locks perfectly.
