Build your own vintage 1951 Midget Racer! This Speedy Midget Racer can be powered with just about anything, back in the day they used two cylinder motorcycle engines. This Speedy Midget Racer is no toy as it performs spectacularly on one-sixth and one-eighth mile dirt tracks. This is a three – quarter scale racer selected from many designs because it is the easiest to build from parts which are readily available. The specifications will meet all track requirements for a great time on the track or just for use anywhere. The plans are scanned in at 400 dpi so they are huge PDF files and perfectly clear. You can print these off as you need each page. You get a CD with the 8 page plan set included along with the free adobe PDF reader (version 7 for older computers and 10 for the newer computers), if you need it just double click on the file and follow the self-install instructions, as the pages are all high quality PDF files. You can also go to the ADOBE web site and download the latest free PDF reader for your operating system. As you can see from the detail pictures this plan set outlines everything you will need to complete this project, but that does not mean you cannot modify it as you think necessary to make it your own design.
This is a perfect plan for a family, scout troop, school or research project.
The plan was published by Popular Mechanics back in July of 1951, back when home projects were common and people did things as a family or group. I can’t think of a better way to bond with you kids!
