This is a beautiful Gretsch Tennessean from 1964 (I believe but am not sure) and NOT a reissue. Everything looks to be original including the case. This guitar plays like butter and has that sweet jangly tone of a vintage gretsch and that nasty rock-a-billy kick. She screams with the best. The neck is on the thicker side (but not chunky) and just feels like home in your hands. The fretboard is a beautiful rosewood and I can only guess this, that it feels soft and silky like that rare rosewood from brazil they often used at this time and it looks so elegant. There are very few nicks on her and she has been very well taken care of. The binding is in outstanding shape with NO shrinkage or repairs, you won't find many like this, if at all. The neck is straight and the frets have a decent amount of life left. They were thin and close to the wood and they have a similar feel to gibson's fretless wonder although bending on this beauty is NO issue at all, you can dig in just fine. The tuners do well and there is no buzzing. There are no modifications or repairs and the neck is perfectly set tight at the joint. She is currently set up with 11's and I think they work perfect for this lovely creature. The original case (with original branding logo inside and intact) has been protecting her all this time and is holding up well. The locking latch does not work that well and could use a repair or replacement. This girl is truly Bonnaroo!
