One of the first of the bands in the Goth scene, the Specimen was born in early 1981 in Bristol. They moved to London, recruited drummer Jonathan in '82 and started the scene defining club, theBatcave (4), in Soho in July 1982. Johnny Melton, AKA Jonny Slut, joined soon after.
