[approx. 1880-1900]. (approx. 24.5x33cm). 1 sheet (cardboard). Original photograph mounted on cardboard. Carrier cardboard slightly stained, photograph slightly faded in places.
Language: German
Order number: 7856C
Remarks: The photograph was mounted on sturdy cardboard and measures 16.5 x 22.7 cm. The photograph from the period of approx. 1880-1900 is slightly brighter due to age and has small disruptions to the image content in the lower left image field. It shows a student fraternity group (16 people) in the fraternity's traditional room. The majority of the members wear uniforms, others only wear suits, but all wear hats with symbols of association. Individuals have a sword in front of their body. In the background you can see the coat of arms of the association on the wall. It consists of four segments (four-part coat of arms), with a field with the colors black, white and red visible at the top left. The other fields are only partially visible, but the design of the segment at the top left narrows the circle of possible connections considerably. This is probably a German-Baltic connection, possibly a connection in Dorpat (Fraternitas Pharmaceutica Dorpatensis). This would need to be clarified in more detail. The German-Baltic connections in the Baltic states were dissolved before 1945 and were partly re-established in the Federal Republic. Rare photograph on the history of the connections from around 1900!
