Here is a bit of history I found on it-

This is a rarely available Casino Hotel room alarm clock made by Dime-A-Wake Incorporated of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The clock movement is by a company called Sessions and it would cost 10 cents to activate.

The Dime-A-Wake company was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada after WWII and did well due to America's post WWIl highway building boom and the hotels and motels built to accommodate the travelers that used them. These clocks were used as an alarm clock in hotel rooms. You would set the alarm at the time you want to wake up, drop a dime in to activate and go to sleep. Unfortunately for them in the mid 1950's hotels began offering wake up calls to rooms as an added service for no charge. Dime-A-Wake's market soon disappeared and so did their company.
