This is a cartridge for the 3M Cantata 700 Background Music System. It contains two contra-rotating reels in a cartridge that play music non-stop for up to 26 hours! These would have been used in shops, department stores, Dentists waiting rooms, or even in industrial work environments.

This cartridge is MODIFIED ROCK LIBRARY 170 which is one of the more lively releases with a really funky rock groove!

The tape condition I would say is very good (a lot of cartridges show a lot of wear for obvious reasons). The audio quality is still nice and crisp too, not muffled or worn out. Check out the photo you can see the tape condition is very good.

I opened the cartridge and cleaned all moving parts, and checked for their proper function, it plays quietly and smoothly. I let it play for about an hour and noticed one splice while it was playing, where it jumped to another song, so there is a part missing, but i can't say how much.
