Gretsch Viking 1966 Electric Guitar Pre-Baldwin with OHSC. Good playable condition. New frets were installed about 8 years ago. Played lightly since then. Typical binding rot associated with vintage Gretsch guitars. TV Jones upgrades (original pots were saved and are included). Pick guard was cracked at some point and glued back together. Repair is well done but visible; does not affect playing. Original hardshell case is in good, usable condition.
Serial number 96413: meaning date of manufacture was September of 1966. 413th Gretsch Viking made that year. This guitar has ALL of the bells and whistles Gretsch was putting into their guitars during this period including the floating bridge with tuning fork (currently installed, see pictures).
This is a rare and beautiful piece of history. Sounds terrific and great fun to play.
