SILVER LIDDED CUT GLASS INKWELL. 

HALLMARK:  BIRMINGHAM  1937.

SILVERSMITH'S MARK: 'F.H'.

This is a cut glass lead crystal Inkwell with a hinged lid and mount made of sterling silver. Hallmarked Birmingham 1937 with a silversmith's mark we haven't been able to trace. The top of the silver lid is monogrammed 'SC'. In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration.

Dimensions:

Glass inkwell body Height x Width x Depth - 4.1 x 5.1 x 5.1 cm. (1.6 x 2.0 x 2.0 inch.). 

Height to top of closed hinged lid - 5.2 cm. (2.0 inch.).

Diameter of lid - 3.8 cm. (1.5 inch.).

Internal diameter of silver collar - 1.9 cm. (0.75 inch.).

Weight: 181.1 grams.

Marks: The Collar is stamped with the hallmark comprising of the Lion Passant, Birmingham Anchor and the Date Letter 'N' for the Year 1937. Alongside is the silversmith's mark 'F.H' which we have not been able to name the owner.
The underside of the lid is hallmarked with the Lion Passant and the Date Letter 'N'.
On the top of the lid is SC as an ornate monogram (See Photos.)

Condition: Excellent. The glass body and the hinged top and collar are not damaged and have not been repaired or restored.
