I believe the item was returned to Amazon after they used it. The essential oil was left in the plastic bottle. The item was placed in a bubble wrap bag and laid down in the manufacturer box. The oil spilled out in the bubble wrap and was left inside for a while. Since it was left on the bag, the front of the diffuser shows bubble wrap indentation. The indentation doesn't affect the diffuser.
Essential oil is not included, and it must be bought separately.
