A 1980's ( 5 1/2 Inch X 3 1/2 Inch ) Black & White postcard sized Reproduction Photograph printed on unknown photographic paper with ' S.6B S.1596 ' written on the reverse in blue ink & showing a view of the RAF High Speed Flight Supermarine S6B High Speed Racing Seaplane ( Serial No S1596 ) at an unknown location ? & was the second of two Supermarine S6B aircraft built ( S1595 & S1596 ) for use by the RAF High Speed Flight in the 1931 Schneider Trophy Race on a course on the Solent between Portsmouth & the Isle of Wight where S1595 came First thus winning the race in September 1931, while a few days later Supermarine S6B S1596 in a high speed flight broke the Air World Speed Record with a speed of 407.5 mph. Sadly the aircraft was lost in an accident later in 1931. Photograph in good overall condition with just a couple of small light faint marks as one might expect.
