Silk taffeta handmade “patina” colored Victorian ballgown. Aqua/bronze color shift. The pics don’t do it justice, but patina is the name of the fabric color, so if you’ve seen when copper oxidizes, it’s a lovely natural result. The color shift makes it appear metallic in the light!

Bodice: bust 38”, waist 29”. Sleeves are meant to sit on shoulders. Lacing in back is meant to completely close with no gap.

Jacket- green silk velvet trimmed with gold tassels, lined with cotton twill. Belt is linen with gold stone and thread, hook-and-eye fastening. It’s a little bit heavy! There are no fastenings but the belt is a nice accessory and acts as the fastening for the jacket.

Skirt: fastened by button, waist is 30”. Must be worn over crinoline hoop, small sweep train with box pleated hem.

The edges of the pleated trim have been trimmed by pinking shears to reduce shedding. There may still be some slight shedding but shouldn’t be an issue over all. This was a common method on raw edges and over time became a charming decoration (fly fringe) when close to the stitching. This should not be a reflection of the quality of fabric, I only use real silk fabric unless otherwise stated.

Based on the Truly Victorian patterns.

The bodice is not boned and the lining is the same fabric as the outside

*Please note that this is a handmade item made with historical methods, which means there may be small imperfections but should have no affect on the integrity of the garment. If you have questions on the details of the garment such as the edges, the inside or how it is fastened, I’m happy to answer that for you if I forgot to put it in the description. Your patience and kindness is appreciated*
