Vintage 1960's German Chess Set with Folding Wooden Board/Box and Pegged, Wooden Pieces Mint
*****One knight is shown disassembled in one photo. It is not broken; the knights are 2 pieces pegged together. It merely came apart but has since been reassembled.

This was purchased by a relative while on vacation in Germany in the mid 1960's. It may have been played a few times but it is in perfect condition with absolutely zero wear.
The board is solid, hardwood. The pieces are all wood. The board folds into a box to house the pieces. You can tell by the joinery of the wood, brass hinges and latch and green felt lining and the metal-reinforced corners of the cardboard box that this is a vintage collectible and not a recent, made in China set...
The ONLY issue is that the box lid has tears at 2 corners as shown in last 2 photos.
Several comparable miniature chess sets are currently offered on Etsy for $83 and $85 so my price seems quite fair.
