When the engine is started, the starting battery and auxiliary battery are separated, and only the starting battery is allowed to be charged. When the charging voltage reaches 13.3 V, the VSR is engaged to charge the starting battery and auxiliary battery. This is indicated by the red indicator light on the top of the LH. When the engine stops running and the battery voltage drops below 12.8 volts, the VSR disengages, separating the starting battery from the auxiliary battery. The auxiliary battery will continue to power all accessories without consuming the power of the starting battery.
The VSR is "dual induction", which can sense the voltage of two batteries. This is very useful because it is dual induction (two-way). You have connected the battery charger or solar energy to the auxiliary battery and the battery is fully charged. The VSR will then allow your charging source to recharge the crank battery and fully charge it, but again, if the voltage drops below 12.8 V, the VSR will disconnect (isolate) the battery again.
