Leica IIIC Red Curtain

The Leica IIIC was manufactured from 1940 until 1951, the first camera bearing the serial number 360175 and the last 525000. It was the first Leica to have a diecast chassis and a one piece top plate and was 1/8" (3mm) longer than its predecessors. Codework for the pre-war camera was LOOZS and post-war models were LOOHW.

On auction a “Red Curtain” model, made in 1941/42 with copy body cap.

Cosmetic: EXC+, as pictures

Optic/Glass: Clear finder and rangefinder with well defined patch.

Mechanical Problem: None, all speeds working fine, except 1/4s which shoots a little slower than normal.
