An Extremely Rare Bible Gospel Leaf of the FIRST EDITION of BIBLIA LATINA (LATIN BIBLE), printed in Nuremburg by Anton Koberger in 1475.

It was finished on 16th November 1475 which coincided with the feast day of St Othmar.
20 Years after Gutenberg - some feel that Koberger used and followed the Guttenberg Bible text. Red & Blue Hand Rubricated Lombard initials on very heavy, creamy, cotton-rag, laid vellum-like paper.
I also own the Colophon page (which is not included in this auction) - I have included a photograph of the dated colophon which specifies where the bible was printed, by whom and the date of publication.
The sheets were printed 20 years after the invention of the Gutenberg printing press and 17 years before Christopher Columbus discovered America. A significant Incunabula leaf of great historical importance of the 1st Latin Bible printed by Anton Koberger in Germany.
