Vintage circa 1970's-80's Soviet Russian porcelain samovar and teapot ornament by the famous Gzhel factory during the days of the Soviet Union.  The samovar has a removable lid as does the small teapot and it is all hand decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and highlighted with 24 karat gold gilding. This beautiful piece is marked to the base of the samovar and the teapot with the grey triangular GZHEL mark in Cyrillic.  It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repair.  There is a little bit of rubbing wear to the exposed points on the gilding conducive with its age.  There are some scratch marks on the base of the samovar where a factory worker has used something rough to remove a glaze drip (please see photos).

Height 26.5 cm, 10½" inches.
Unpacked weight 800 grams.
