Silky, Vibrant Organic Cotton Fabric - Farmed in Uganda
A beautiful fabric created especially for our African Tunics project - you can't buy it anywhere else! The fabric is silky soft organic cotton, farmed regeneratively so using indigenous cotton seed, no harmful pesticides and fed by the rain. This is not one of those cottons infamous for nasty chemicals and lots of water!
This cotton was farmed in Uganda in a co-operative creating ecological farming skills in an area which had previously been devastated by civil war. The organisation works with local farmers to teach farming skills to a new generation and ensures that the methods and seeds used are the best for the environment.
The fabric is of medium weight, suitable for a light dress, scarf, top or trousers or it would make beautiful cushion covers.
This fabric is:
- 100% organic cotton fibre - plastic free and vegan.
- 162cm wide
- Using Ecological cotton farming
- Truly versatile – you can create something beautiful with it
- Milled in Germany in a social enterprise dedicated to supporting farming social enterprises and environment friendly cotton farming methods
- Digitally printed in an organic workshop with the Green Peacock Feather design
- Machine-washable (but please use lower temperatures for best results - and better for the planet too :-))

and vulnerable people.

materials that use significantly
less carbon and water than standard production -
such as traditional weaving and printing that are powered by hand or solar
power.
