Commemorative Cross of the War 1916-1918, with campaign bars for Ardeal, Carpati, Marasti,Tirgu-Ocna and1919 for the invasion of Hungary's Red Republic of Bela Kun. The cross was created by royal decree of King Ferdinand on 8 July 1918 and was awarded to all Romanian combatants during Romania's participation in the First World War, 1916-1918. From November 1918 to November 1919, Romania was engaged in sporadic warfare with Hungary, culminating in the Romanian army's invasion of Hungary and occupation of Budapest. While Romanian casualties in the war were relatively minor compared to its losses in the First World War, the short, bitter conflict with Hungary still cost Romania  39 officers and 1,730 soldiers killed, 81 officers and 3,125 soldiers wounded and three officers and 1,579 soldiers missing in action. The cross is in very fine condition with the original ribbon and bars. The ribbon is a bit tattered near the jump ring, but otherwise is still in good condition.
