4 #8 Foam water walkers— a cicada in a pinch, works great as the hopper in a hopper/dropper rig, knotted silicone legs have a ton of action and the foam body floats like a cork.

There are nine cicadas here as true to life as I could get them with limited materials. Gaudy fuzzed-out quill legs into foam bodies with bulging red eyes , three in sizes 6, 8 and 10 so no matter how big the brood hatch is you’ll have something close .

Finishing out this lot are some half-and-half synthetic stimulators. Again, effective cicada imitations in a pinch, high floating with lots of flash.
