c.1950 KIN SIN - Oversize
! Massive 14K XEF Flex nib !
A wonderful piece of history! These pens are really something. This is the earlier version with more celluloid. Made in Shanghai after the end of WW-2, these were perhaps the BEST binate Chinese pens ever made. Wonderful engineering, 14K nibs that were huge and wonderful to use! The pen itself is large at 5 5/8 inches closed. The cap lines even have a layer of brass to protect against lip cracks etc. These are robust yet surely made back then, far better than. a lot of ''western'' products! I have taken a photo fo this lovely nib next to a MB 146 nib. The pen itself is larger than a L139 as you can see.
This particular pen was a gift after the making some motion picture. There is a lovely dedication in Chinese on it and a vote of thanks. This pen is often called the ''Older Gold Star'' pen, as the later pens were called Gold star and made in the Peking ( Beijing ) branch after the mid 1950s. This is quite a stunner!
Its a button filler and is fully working. Only a new sac has been installed.
A wonderful writer with a needle point XEF springy flex nib! Feather touch tip!! Wonderful for spencerian type writing!
