COMMENTS : A WONDERFUL stylized seed pot form by Rose Chino, the daughter of famed artist, Marie Z. Chino. It has wonderful stylized representations of various insects including bees, etc. NiCELY SIZED AND A GREAT EXAMPLE FROM THIS KNOWN ARTIST. This pot was part of a very well curated collection on the coast of California and this particular pot was purchased by her in 2009 from the Andrea Fisher Gallery in Santa Fe , New Mexico.
ROSE CHINO (1928-2000) has her pottery is in the collections of the Peabody Museum at Harvard University, Heard Museum in Phoenix, Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, and numerous private collections. She has won awards at Santa Fe Indian Market since 1975—one award was for "most creative design."
Rose Chino Garcia (1928-2000) and her sisters, Carrie Chino Charlie, Vera Chino Ely and Grace Chino, are daughters of Marie Z. Chino and all of them were exceptional potters, as was their mother.
