It is a very old crucifix, circa 1870-90, probably a nun's pectoral crucifix, worn on the chest as part of the traditional habit, 5 3/4” in length, with the original attachment ring on the top of the cross.

This is composed of fine brass with dark brown hardwood inlay on the front only and has the full iconography typical of these old crucifixes, including an unusual diamond shaped nimbus radiance behind the head of the figure of Jesus ,which is almost full form.

Condition graded as FINE, although there is a slight bit of wear noted to the wood inlay at the edges, especially near the bottom where the Golgotha skull and crossed bones are located, but the wood is solid and not at all loose in any place: one of the oldest crucifixes in our store at the present time, perhaps Servite nuns in origin, though we cannot be sure- a collectible nun's habit crucifix.
