This week I'm offering a number of old baseball cards for sale. Here I have a very nice team-issued item, a picture from the 1982 Union Oil Los Angeles Dodgers set. These paintings by noted artist Nicholas Volpe were printed on 8 1/2 x 11 heavy stock paper, showing a striking portrait of each player on the front and stats plus a write-up on the back. There were 24 pictures in the set, given away one per week at Union Oil Gas stations. This set, similar to others issued by Union Oil in the Sixties, has remained very popular with collectors. This piece pictures Dodger Mark Belanger. It's in outstanding shape; see scans for condition. Not bad for an item that's over thirty years old! This would be a terrific addition to any collection!
