This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. In 1941, Gum Products issued a large set of blank-backed cards depicting various types of planes. The first series was sepia-toned, with white borders, and consisted of 75 cards skip-numbered 1 to 100. The second, and much more difficult series, consisted of 100 cards, numbered 101 to 200, each issued with five different colored borders (blue, green, red, orange and yellow). Collectors have devoted their lives to completing a master set! Here we have card #168 "Martin Clipper" from the second, colored border series, with blue borders. It shows slight edge wear (see scan). Not bad for a pretty rare card that's eighty years old! This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping is $3.50 for First Class Mail, and postage will be combined for multiple winnings.
