This antique Edwardian Titanic era black cobweb net Chantilly lace gold lame mesh lined bodice dates from 1912. It is made of a sheer black fine cobweb net with woven black thread embroidery work, black braid silk woven trim edging and a black Chantilly lace overlay collar. This beautiful black bodice has a uneven handkerchief hem sheer net capelet overlay with a baby blue chiffon, black silk backing, tiny black beaded button trim down the front, is sleeveless with an open V back trimmed in black silk braid, button accents, missing closures on the back and is lined with a gold metallic lame woven mesh fabric sewn inside. The top measures 16 inches long, with a 40 inch chest and 36 inch waist. Included are pair of matching net uneven handkerchief hem sleeve cuffs which had been removed from the top and measure 7 inches long, 5 inches wide across the wrist. It is in good as-is condition, a "wounded bird", in the process of being altered or remade, missing the sleeves, frays on the blue silk chiffon lining underneath and missing closures (see close-ups). Great for upcycling. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art!
