Vintage Blue Wool Multicolored Matyo Embroidery Hungarian Folk Vest Shrug

This vintage blue wool multicolored Matyo embroidery Hungarian folk vest shrug dates from the 1920s. It is made of a blue wool fabric, with multicolored raised padded satin stitch traditional Hungarian Matyo hand embroidery work of flowers, leaves and decorative squiggle polka dot designs around the armholes. This pretty peasant bohemian Hungarian folk vest has a short shrug bolero jacket style with an open front, no closures, an embroidered fold over lapel, sleeveless and is unlined. The top measures 15 inches long, with a 36 inch chest and 12 inch back. It is in good condition, with only a tiny faint stain on the front (see close-up). This is a truly wonderful piece of wearable bohemian Hungarian peasant folk art!
