Up for bid is very impressive Solid Bronze Art Deco Ballet Dancer signed D. H. Chiparus and FOUNDRY MARK from Bronze Masters, (picture #5).

Demetre Haralamb Chiparus was one of the most important sculptor of the Art Deco-era.  He was born September 16, 1886 in Dorohoi, Romania and died January 22, 1947 in Paris, France.  He spent his professional life in Paris, France where he lived and worked.  
Being known for sculptures, many of the artist's works are exhibited throughout the world and in the United States (The museum of Fine Arts, Houston and many other well known museums).

The sculpture that you are bidding on is 10" high total, including the absolutely wonderful cut black marble base.  

The bronze including the bronze base is 10" long  x  4" wide  x  9" high.

The black marble base with black velvet cloth on the bottom (picture #10) is: 12-5/8" long  x  4-3/4" wide  x  1" high.

The sculpture is signed on the bronze base D.H. Chiparus next to the Foundry Mark logo from Bronze Masters, as shown on picture #5 above.  

The sculpture is heavy.  It is in EXCELLENT condition.
