I have here for sale a book entitled ECHOES FROM OLD CALCUTTA Being Chiefly Reminiscences of the Days of Warren Hastings, Francis, and Impey by H E BUSTEED, C.I.C. Fourth Edition much enlarged and with additional illustrations published by W Thacker & Co., London; Thacker, Spink & Co., Calcutta & Simla, in 1908.  This book is presented in three sections: "The Black Hole, 1756"; "Philip Francis and His Times"; and Appendices.  There is a fold-out Map of Calcutta; a fold-out illustration of Old Fort William, and a further 25 full-page b/w plates.  

Green cloth boards with a black and red decorative design and gilt lettering on the front board and spine.  Slight wear to corners, edges, and top and bottom of the spine.  Black endpapers.  The fold-out map is detached, but all other pages are firm and the book is in very good condition.  xvi, 431 pages, plus "Selections from Reviews of Previous Edition" 2 pages.  22 x 14.5 cm.
