You're looking at an excellent overall condition book which is RARE, hard to find and OUT OF PRINT and a fascinating examination of psychic phenomena and the leading psychics of America written by Edgar Cayce biographer JESS STEARN--the book is a collectible STATED FIRST EDITION and a HARDCOVER with the ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET and is NOT a remainder copy and NOT price-clipped, with the original $6.95 price in the upper corner of the front inner flap.  This book is in excellent overall condition and is a former library copy with typical markings and no mylar plastic sleeve on the dustjacket, which is NOT attached to the boards (the center edges of the covers have small pieces of clear tape where the jacket was once placed and  the jacket has NO tearing; the book itself has a slight forward list of the spine end, a tiny ding on the upper center edge of p. 231, very slight dings on the spine tips and just very light evidence of gentle browsing but NO other significant flaws; the dustjacket has a tiny puncture tear on the center left spine edge of the front cover, very light dings on the spine tips, a few light scuffs and light shelfwear but NO other significant flaws!   The book is titled The Miracle Workers: America's Psychic Consultants and it was written by JESS STEARN; it was published by Doubleday & Company, Inc. in 1972 and is a STATED 1st EDITION copy.

In 1967, Jess Stearn wrote Edgar Cayce--The Sleeping Prophet.  Here, in a book that covers psychic phenomena all over the country, he writes about leading American psychics with fascinating details on how they work, what makes them perform and what their special fields are.

California's healer Doug Johnson is one example.  By passing his hands over afflicted areas, he has cured complaints that baffle conventional physicians.  Bill Corrado is more concerned with diagnosis; he has unerringly spotted illnesses in people he has never seen.

Mr. Stearn also investigates the area of precognition, noting both those predictions that have come true in the past and some startling forecasts of the future.
