On the last Sunday
before Easter, Christians celebrate the great feast of the Lord's Entry into
Jerusalem, based on the biblical story of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on a
donkey from Bethany. In Ukraine, this holiday has a popular name - Palm Sunday
- associated with the tradition of blessing willow branches on this day.
The limited edition of
the thematic stamp set “Easter will be in a week!” by the “Vlasna Marka”
project includes a numbered stamp sheet of 9 stamps and a numbered art envelope
with a special redemption “Easter will be in a week!”.

The redemption of the
envelope is timed to coincide with a special event - the entry of Jesus Christ
into Jerusalem, or Palm Sunday, which this year falls on April 28.
Before that, on
Saturday, Jesus performed a miracle - he raised his friend, the righteous
Lazarus. And on Sunday, Christ ordered his disciples to bring a young donkey
and rode it into Jerusalem, where he was greeted like a king.
People covered his path
with palm leaves. Hence the custom of blessing a willow tree (to replace the
palm tree, which does not grow in our area) in memory of that day, the sacrifice
and the Lord's humility before his future.
