----------------------------------

Industar is a trademark of anastigmat lenses produced in the USSR since the early 1930s in various designs and with various optical parameters. A common feature of all Industars was a Tessar-type optical circuit, consisting of three components, the last of which, unlike a triplet, consists of two glued lenses. Most lenses of this type belong to the normal group, and were used as regular lenses in most Soviet cameras, as well as in photographic enlargers, movie cameras, aerial cameras and other equipment.

The main lens of the Zorkiy, Zenit, Kristall cameras, produced as a replacement for the obsolete Industar-22. The most famous and mass-produced version marked "Industar-50-2" was equipped with Zenith cameras with an M42 thread and without a pressure diaphragm drive. In more expensive trim levels, the more aperture Helios-44-2 was an alternative to Industar.

Lens "Industar-50" in different versions: for photographic enlargers; with retractable frame; in a rigid frame for rangefinder (in the center) and SLR cameras with M39 × 1 thread; variant "Industar-50-2" with M42 × 1 thread

For rangefinder cameras, it was produced in two versions - in a folding frame, similar to Industar-22, and rigid, unified with lenses for Zenith SLRs. The rangefinder "Industar-50" easily turned off the extension ring and the rangefinder pusher, after which the lens could be installed on Zenit cameras with the M39 × 1 mount. The lens was calculated in 1953 by Mikhail Maltsev.

It was also produced at the Lytkarinsky (LZOS) and Kazan (KOMZ) optical-mechanical plants.

Modifications:

"Industar-50U" (I-50U) - an option for photographic enlargers, produced by LZOS and FOS (Feodosia Optical Plant)

"Industar-50-2" - a variant with M42 × 1 mount for small-format SLR cameras.

"Industar-50S", "Industar-50MT" - options in a special frame that allows you to shoot through an endoscope. Designed for Zenit-MT and Zenit-MT1 cameras, respectively. Relative aperture 1:7.
