Ultimate craftsman kit which will build into a contest quality model. The prototype was a primitive but effective coaling facility located at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on the Milwaukee Road, at the end of the branch line from Horicon and Ripon, Wisconsin.

The kit is built board-by-board from dimensional lumber, with a multitude of soft metal castings for the detail parts. Instructions include plan and elevation views (7 of them) and many pages of step-by-step construction notes, with expert advice on painting, staining, fastening, and weathering.

There are other HO scale kits on the market for suitable structures for the Milwaukee's small Fond du Lac terminal and environs. These include the Kibri 3-stall brick roundhouse and the Heljan Brewery, which is modeled after the prototype Bechaud Brewery which once stood in Fond du Lac next to the Milwaukee Road line.

Model Railroader's 101 Track Plans for Model Railroads has a layout design -- the Iron Ridge & Mayville -- which incorporates the track pattern for the Fond du Lac yard, showing the placement for the bucket coaling station and associated trackage.
