The redemption of the envelope is timed to coincide with a special event - the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, or Palm Sunday, which this year falls on April 28. 

Before that, on Saturday, Jesus performed a miracle - he raised his friend, the righteous Lazarus. And on Sunday, Christ ordered his disciples to bring a young donkey and rode it into Jerusalem, where he was greeted like a king.

People covered his path with palm leaves. Hence the custom of blessing a willow tree (to replace the palm tree, which does not grow in our area) in memory of that day, the sacrifice and the Lord's humility before his future.

Stamped envelope contains special cancellation “Easter will be in a week” Kyiv. 28.04.2024. The author of the stamp is Ukrainian artist Mykola Kochubey.

The stamp printed on the envelope depicts a trident, the Small Emblem of Ukraine, which is one of the three national symbols along with the flag and anthem.
