For your consideration, a 1952 GRETSCH model 6003 "Jimmie Rogers" flat-top acoustic guitar. First off, this is a beautiful, if a bit subdued, sounding little guitar. It has a vibe. It has nice low action and sounds gorgeous. Rosewood fretbooard, Spruce top, Mahogony back, sides, and neck. Brazillian Rosewood bridge. It comes with the original case, the original certificate of authenticity, the warranty card, and the Gretsch envelope that all came in.

With any 72+ year old piece of wood, there's some good and bad. I want to be as transparent as possible. This guitar is almost all original. It has the original Brazilian rosewood bridge. Most of these that I've seen, the bridge is gone, which is a hard get considering Brazilian rosewood is endangered. The tuners are original to the guitar except for the small screws holding them on and one of the screws that holds the gear in. The pickguard has been replaced with one of those sticks on modern ones (no glue). However, I do have and will include the original pickguard, which curled up over time. The big negative with this one is that it has been refinished. It's not bad. It looks decent, but there are a few little areas on the sides, along the binding where you can tell if you look closely. Overall, though, it looks really nice, imo. The back looks great. I think most of the neck and, of course, the headstock were left alone. The other issue is that it has lower action at the 1st fret than at the 12th. The truss rod is fully operable. The strings don't buzz on the frets when tuned to pitch. The action is nice all the way up and down the neck. One could speculate that it has a reset in its future, but maybe it's where it sat in a case unused for many years and it will straighten back out a bit now that it's been adjusted. I'm not positive. These are just things to keep in mind. But right now, and probably for many years to come, it is an easily and comfortably playable, 72 year old, American made by a very well know maker, acoustic guitar that sounds fantastic and stays in tune. If that's something you like, maybe this is priced in a way that allows a person who can't afford an old Martin or other brand to have a classic, mid-century, USA made, acoustic guitar at a more reasonable price, but still of a better quality than some of the department store guitars that are around. Please ask any questions before you buy. I'll take 100 more pics if you need them. Just lmk. As far as the price. If you search the description, you'll find a few that sold several years ago around the $1200 range. Those weren't refinished but had more damage and weren't nearly as original as this one. I'm open to negotiation, but don't kill me on it. Thanks.
