I have here for sale a book entitled ALBERT N'YANZA GREAT BASIN OF THE NILE by SIR SAMUEL W BAKER published by Macmillan & Co., London, title-page missing, but publisher's catalogue is dated 1879.  This book describes the great explorer Sir Samuel Baker's discovery of Lake Albert as one of the sources of the White Nile.  The book includes 12 full-page b/w plates, numerous b/w in-text illustrations, and a full-page colour Map of the Basin of the Nile.

Green cloth boards with a blind stamped illustration on the front board.  Boards are marked and worn with rubbing to the corners.  Gilt lettering and illustration on the spine.  Ex-library copy with labels, and stamps throughout.  Title-page missing, as are plates at pages 281 and 298;  and there is a small whole in the plate at page 332.  Minor marks on some pages.  All pages are firm and the book is in good overall condition.  xx, 499 pages, plus publisher's catalogue 43 pages.   20 x 13 cm.
