I believe this chain is 9ct but it could have a higher gold content. It has no opening and slips over the head.
Marks rarely appear on vintage gold and weren't a legal requirement until 1973. However, this is typical of Victorian/Edwardian jewellery. Every link is faceted.
The dog clip, from which any pendant can be hung, functions beautifully and is stamped 9ct.
