Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Antique American - c1840's - Sterling Silver - 3.5" Engine Turned Silver Calling Card Case.
62.8 Grams - Excellent Condition! - No Reserve!
This handsome and impressive case dates from the early to mid 1840's, of American make and origin, fashioned as a 3.5" by 2.5" by just under .25" silver calling card case featuring an intricate engine turned design on the front and back, a large cartouche on the front. The case is solid and heavy with a silver weight of 62.8 grams
The case is in excellent condition showing normal wear, with no repairs or restorations, no rubbing or wear to the design or details and no monograms - there are several very small dings on the bottom of the case, these are very minor, do not detract, and can easily be removed by a good silversmith.
The the case is not marked or stamped but has been assayed and acid tested and is guaranteed to be Sterling silver.
As I usually do I'm offering this item at a LOW opening with NO RESERVE.
Happy Bidding !
