This nifty cover was sent from San Francisco, California, to Sonora, California, on September 17, 1863! It was addressed to a Francis W. Mastick.

To continue, though its bottom perfs are slightly shorter than one might like, overall, the light, rust red, 3-Cent, "Washington," Scott #65 is in very fine condition! Though a bit skewed and smudged, overall, the black, double-circle CDS, and grid cancel from the San Francisco P.O. are excellent!

Lastly, as for the condition of the envelope itself, it's quite good! It's very clean! It has been reduced a bit at its left side due to having been opened there. The right side(from the back) is a bit jagged due to that. The back flap is more than 95% intact, though. Noted imperfections aside, this is still a neat piece of Civil War-era, California postal history!
